The paste looks fine here but breaks in WhatsApp. This is almost always caused by an over-decorated fancy font pasted from elsewhere, not from plain text. If a stray character shows as an empty box, delete it and retype the surrounding word.

My bold or italic did not apply. WhatsApp only styles text after you send the message, so the asterisks and underscores will still be visible in the compose box. Send it and it renders. Also check you used the exact characters, single asterisks around a phrase with no space between the marker and the words.

The status cut off my message. Text status has a character limit. Shorten the wish or send the full version as a normal chat message and keep status for the short, quotable line.

I want to send her old profile photo or a saved chat. WhatsApp has no feature to download another person’s profile picture, and there is no official tool that does it. Keep your birthday message to text, media you already have, or a photo you took together, all of which paste and attach without any workaround.

It is tempting to reach for an image with the words baked in.
