Keep spacing sensible. Add a normal space between your last word and the checkmark so it does not collide with the text. If you are building a list, put the tick first and the label second, which mirrors how people read a checkbox.

Test on a second device if it matters. Because emoji artwork is drawn by each operating system, a coloured check can look slightly different on Android versus iPhone. Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Confusing typed checkmarks with WhatsApp read receipts

This is the big one. The grey and blue ticks WhatsApp shows next to your sent messages are delivery and read receipts generated by the app. One grey tick means sent, two grey ticks mean delivered, and two blue ticks mean read. You cannot type those, change their colour, or copy them, and this tool has nothing to do with them. The checkmarks here are decorative Unicode characters you place inside the text of a message, status, or name. Keeping the two ideas separate saves a lot of confusion.

Expecting a green tick everywhere

The plain check mark (U+2713) is not green by default; it inherits your text colour. If you specifically want the green rounded tick, choose the white heavy check mark (U+2705), which is the emoji version.

Pasting an image instead of the character

Copying a tick from a web image gives you a picture, not text, and it will not sit inline in a group name or About field. Always copy the actual symbol, which is exactly what this tool puts on your clipboard.

Troubleshooting

The checkmark shows as an empty box or a question mark. That means the device or app you pasted into does not have a glyph for that code point. This is rare on modern WhatsApp, but if it happens, switch from a less common symbol to a widely supported one like U+2705 or U+2714, which almost every current device can render.

The tick is invisible on my status. A thin text tick can vanish against a matching background colour. Use the coloured white heavy check mark, or change the status background so the symbol has contrast.
